It's about 7 A.M. Michigan time. Looks like it will be another lovely day. Only a few minutes before the kids wake up for the day. Just kind of going over the events of the weekend in my head.
On Sunday we visited my grandmother in a nursing rehab center. She had a rough patch last week, and ended up there after being released from the hospital. My grandma is a very sharp 92, and my last surviving grandparent. She was doing much better than expected, and is quite determined to make it home in the next few days. I think she will too.
The rehab center was also better than expected. It was very clean without the smells usually associated with such places. The staff are attentive and friendly. The building itself is nothing much to talk about. Inside however, are pretty paintings and prints. They have a small well cared for aviary with finches and parakeets. In another common area they have a couple of love birds. Outside there are several little courtyards with flowers and trees. We visited the largest one. It had a little pond with a two waterfalls and coy swimming past the frog sunning himself on a stone. If grandma can't be home, I'm thankful she has such a nice place to stay while she recovers.
On the way up and back we saw lots of critters. Two sandhill cranes flew over the car! There were the usual goats, cows, and horses. One farm had a llama out with their goats. We stopped the cemetary where my uncle is buried, and visited with the buffalo that live next door. They had some new little ones, but by the time I got my camera out of the car they had moved too far away from the fence. I did get some nice shots of the group, and a couple of single members of the herd. On the last leg of the trip home, we saw two nice size herds of deer. The first had eleven, and the second had more than twenty. It was a good way to end the weekend.
It's Friday, and I have the day off! Wooo Hooo!! The sun is shining here in Michigan. I've just been exploring Covenspace. If anyone can give me tips on how to navigate it better, that would be wonderful. Enjoy the day.
